I know a number of younger men who have turned to smoking fine Cuban cigars. Is there a growing popularity among the up and coming men in society, or is smoking still dominantly a past time of the older gents?

I've noticed a trend among guys over thirty. I have wondered if it's because they've gone through some of the other less expensive vices or more active ones. With cigar smoking, you can relax in a chair instead of run around a field.

I read somewhere that cigar consumption in the US had gone up 3 times between 2006 and 2011. Not surprising you are seeing more cigar smokers.

I think 30 is a critical line for the majority of people in many aspects, as well as cigars. If you start smoking cigars at 30, you'll receive much more satisfaction from the process than if you decide to do it earlier.

It's for everyone - the thing is that younger people have to travel a long way sometimes to decide what they really want. And smoking cigars isn't their highest priority at the beginning.

I was 23 y.o. when I started smoking cigars but my love for them came a little later, in a couple of years. So I guess it depends on the age.

I think smoking cigars is rather connected with older men since cigars are expensive, and younger men often don't have enough money to spend on them. That's why it takes some time for them to start smoking cigars.

Fin290672, my thoughts exactly!

I also think that cigars are more associated with wealth than with age (I mean, older people are usually wealthier than younger ones), so these young gents were just lucky to become wealthy before turning older.
