Over Christmas my mother informed me that Father used to rotate the cigars in his humidor four times a year. I've now had possession of these cigars for almost 9 months and have not rotated them.
Should I ?

Well, Jennie, I don't think that's a big problem. Some aficionados rotate their cigars from time to time to ensure that they get equal humidity throughout the stick. Some believe it's a total waste of time and are pretty happy without it.
I think it's okay if you rotate them now, just in case.

For some people the quarterly "rotation' can become a kind of ritual and is all part of the pleasure of keeping, handling and smoking cigars.

I never did that in my life, don't know even why do I need it?

Not necessarily, it isn't as important for your cigars as a correct humidity level and a properly seasoned humidor are.
